In Memoriam of Professor Ikujiro Nonaka

We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Professor Ikujiro Nonaka (10 May 1935 – 25 January 2025). His pioneering contribution to Knowledge Management theory, particularly the SECI model, has significantly influenced academic thought and business practices around the globe. His insights on tacit knowledge, the creation of organizational knowledge, and the concept of “ba” (place) have transformed our understanding of knowledge management and the innovation economy.

Professor Nonaka’s intellectual legacy will live on through the countless scholars, business leaders, and practitioners he inspired during his distinguished career. His contributions to management theory, with a particular emphasis on the humanization of management, will remain invaluable to future generations.
